Pallion Action Group is passionate about our local community and its safety.
As the digital world is embedded into everyone’s daily lives the risks and fears this brings needs our attention.
Ove the last 16 years we have been running a regular Fraud Squad meeting with local residents exchanging stories, rumours and experiences with Scams, local and nationwide.
Our purpose is firstly to provide help and awareness to the local community about any concerns through our Social Media pages and sessions.
We work along side Royal Holloway University London who use information from our work together in their academic research for UK Government.
Regular guests visit us who help and advise us in keeping up the awareness of any Scams and Fraud that maybe current and how to equip ourselves and assist others on staying safe.
Guests have been Police, Banks, Building Societies, Financial Institutions, Local Council and BBC Journalists and more.
We also focus on the use (good and bad) of Artificial Intelligence and how it is now a part of our everyday lives.
How we can use it safely, how do we spot when others are using it for harm?
This is an area that we are currently focusing on and are excited to be sharing a major piece of work that will enable us to equip members of the public with the correct knowledge and confidence to navigate todays digital world and overcome the risk and fear it can bring.
