The Company Shop Group
You can enjoy high quality food and household brands at low prices and help the environment at the same time. The Company Shop in Washington prevents good quality surplus stock going to waste by selling it through its member-only superstore. As the stock is surplus Company Shop cannot guarantee specific stock items but what they do sell is often at 70% discount so you can stock up on what they do have available.
Benefit Claimants
The Company shop now accepts families receiving Means Tested benefits, they do not have to
join, but can simply pitch up at shop
They are also enabling people to join as temporary members that receive
- Universal Credit - Income Related
- Employment Support Allowance
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
Free school meals
If anyone receives Free School Meals Vouchers (from Edenred) these can also now be used in
the Company Shop whether you are a Company Shop member or not. The Company Shop are now
matching the value of these vouchers so for each £15 FSM voucher the Company Shop will provide
a further £15 to double what you can spend in the Company Shop. They will also provide you with
£15 worth of shopping - even if you have spent your FSM voucher elsewhere
Proof of FSM entitlement will be required
The Company Shop will also provide £15 worth of shopping for families with children under 5
(that are not otherwise eligible for FSM) providing that you receive means tested benefits.
- proof of child benefit, and passport / birth certificate are required
