What is Wise Steps?

What can Wise Steps do for you?

Wise Steps helps people in Tyne & Wear to transform their lives with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. The project provides one to one tailored support to help people take positive steps towards work. Wise Steps is a partnership of local organisations led by the Wise Group. Wise Steps can help you increase job prospects and improve your wellbeing.

You will receive one to one support from a coach. Together you will look at the personal challenges you may face in finding a job. Wise Steps will help increase your skills, build your confidence, help you manage your money better, and make you ready for work.

You will also receive support during job search, training, volunteering and work experience, as well as in-work support.

Are You Eligible?

Wise Steps customers must be:

  • Aged 18 and over
  • Legally resident in the UK
  • Able to take paid employment in the European Union
  • Unemployed or economically inactive (e.g. not in work, not available for work or not seeking work)
  • Experiencing multiple barriers towards getting a job.
